Our Gotland sheep graze the wild meadows up at Trill on the Hill. They are a hardy breed, well adapted to living their lives out in the elements, foraging for wildflowers and herbs amongst the diverse grasses, and taking shelter under the old crab apple trees and in the woods. Their fleeces are naturally silky soft and curly, ranging in colour from blue-ish white through mottled grey to almost black. Their skins are tanned at one of the few remaining tanneries left in Britain which, fortunately for us, is here in Devon. Sheepskins are sold to those on the waiting list on a first-come, first-served basis. We aim to dispatch the skins within a week.
